It’s not just our officers that make us a force

Our Police Staff apply to the whole operation, it takes a team of almost 4,000 people to keep Hertfordshire safe and that includes a huge variety of personnel. Behind the scenes at Herts Police are hundreds of different professionals, from Credit Controllers and Crime Analysts to Administrators and IT specialists. They all play a vital role in making sure our organisation runs smoothly.

We have flexible working opportunities, offering everything from part-time jobs to long term careers. Whatever your skill-set we’d like to talk to you – and we’re looking for people who represent the community in which they live and work.

We have roles available in four key areas:

Business support (Grades A1-A4) – provides administrative, clerical and general support to teams across the constabulary.

Operational (Grades A1-A5) – directly supports police operations.

Technical (Grades A2-A5) – provides technical support for the organisation’s machinery and equipment.

Professional (Grades A4-A6) – specialist roles requiring relevant professional qualifications.
