We want our force to reflect the communities we serve, so we make sure we’re always open to applicants from all walks of life.
Eligibility for becoming a Special Constable is much the same as for a regular Officer. So the upper age limit is 65 and you need to be 18 by the time of admission.
You need to either be a UK or EC/EEA citizen or a resident with unrestricted right to live and work in the UK. And for most roles, you’ll require a full, clean driving licence. Your general health, fitness and eyesight also need to be up to standard. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to email them to us at policerecruitment@herts.pnn.police.uk
