We work closely with a number of local colleges, supporting full-time public service
courses and part-time access courses, which help people who are preparing to join
the force, as well as those who want to learn more about the public service sector.

We also operate a ride-along scheme, where members of the public can accompany an
officer on patrol and learn about working with the force first-hand.
To take part in a ride-along, you need to be aged 18 years or over, have no serious
or recent convictions and sign a confidentiality agreement and briefing sheet. You
