Police Officers

Overview

Doing the same thing day in day out doesn't sound a very attractive prospect to us. And if predictability isn't something you're after either, then becoming an officer in Hertfordshire could offer the sort of future you're looking for.

Every day is different. Ask any of our officers why they like their job, and chances are, that's the answer you'll get. And that's because achieving safety in the community, offering a reassuring presence to local people and reducing crime means facing a huge range of challenges and dealing with issues that are constantly changing.

As a police officer, you'll be asked to test your mental, emotional and physical abilities. You'll work closely with people within the force, gain their trust and return their respect. And as a result, you'll build a career that delivers both personal satisfaction and the opportunity to make a real and visible difference within the community.

To find out exactly what you can expect from choosing a career with us, we've brought together some more information on our application process, training programme and rewards and benefits. There's a section to help answer any other questions you may have. Plus, we've spoken to some of the officers who are currently serving with us, to give you an on-the-ground view of the job.

If you like what you see, why not get in touch and apply?

We also operate a ride-along scheme where you can spend the day out on the beat with one of our officers. Express interest in the ride-along scheme.
