Training
Training for special constables takes place over eighteen days, either on weekends or over weekday periods, at our training unit. During this time, you'll develop a broad understanding of the knowledge and skills you need to be a serving officer.
Over the course of the programme, you'll receive a firm grounding in legal powers and procedures, communications, traffic laws, first-aid and self-defence. You'll also gain a solid understanding of specific crime and drug-related issues. And by the final week, you should be ready to take your oath of allegiance, receive your warrant card – and go out on your first shift.
