Special Constables

Standing up for the community

Recruitment for Special Constables is currently open

Hertfordshire Constabulary strives to provide an exceptional policing service to its communities, but we couldn’t do that without the invaluable support of our volunteer team of Special Constables. The Special Constables form a vital presence on our streets and in our force, so volunteering with the team is a real opportunity to give something back to your community.

Hertfordshire Constabulary will be running a pilot Special Constable recruitment process from 11th September 2017.

All current applicants will remain in the recruitment pool and continue to be processed, as per information on Herts Police Careers website.

All applicants registering their interest from 11th September 2017 will be redirected to our new Special Constabulary recruitment portal and be processed in accordance with the new process. The details of the pilot process will be accessed on the new website.

Current candidates being processed or applying before the date of the trial, should not be concerned by the changes as we assure you that if you have applied, then our HR Service Centre is processing your application. Thank you for your understanding and interest in joining our organisation.

To prospective applicants, thank you for your interest and we look forward to receiving your expressions of interest and hearing your feedback once the trial of the new process begins on 11th September 2017.

Please apply by visiting our new Hertfordshire Constabulary Specials website at www.hertspolicespecials.co.uk

We wish our current and prospective applicants everything of the best as you apply to join Hertfordshire Constabulary as a Special Constable.
