Colleges

We work closely with a number of local colleges, supporting full-time public service courses and part-time access courses, which help people who are preparing to join the force, as well as those who want to learn more about the public service sector. When it comes to educating students, Herts Police has a lot to teach.

For more information on the public service course, contact the colleges below for more details.

Oaklands College is situated in St Albans, Borehamwood and Welwyn Garden City.

North Hertfordshire College in Stevenage and Hitchin.

West Herts College in Watford and Hemel Hempstead. Hertford Regional College is based in Ware and Broxbourne.

There’s a lot on offer at Hertfordshire Constabulary. And we enjoying getting out and about to local colleges to show young people what we do, how we operate and how they can join us.

We bring along officers from different sections of the force to talk about their area of expertise and answer questions. We also offer advice on the application process and can help with interview techniques and preparation.

We’re happy to tailor our presentations to the needs of the college. So if you’re interested in organising a visit, feel free to specify any topics you wish us to cover.

Request a visit to your college.
